About Thomas Burgaud

Carreer

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in private international law and international commercial law from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas, following a Bachelor’s degree in private law from the same university and a Bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne.

During his studies, he also obtained a certificate for the course “International Law in action: the arbitration of international disputes” from the University of Leiden (Netherlands).

Fascinated by the stakes involved in maritime trade and its inherently international nature, Thomas became familiar with this field during his various internships and living experiences in Sweden and Taiwan.

His practice of sailing has given him an insight into the world of yachting.

Thomas was admitted to the Paris Bar in February 2022. Before joining Tarin Lemarié, he worked for three years in a well-known French maritime and transport law firm and completed a traineeship in the shipping department of a leading international law firm.

Thomas is bilingual in English, fluent in Spanish and has a basic knowledge of German and Mandarin
